Dr. Maria (Maki) Haberfeld is a professor of Police Science at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City. Prior to joining the academe, she was a Detective Lieutenant in Israel National Police.

 

 She is a former Assistant Commissioner for Professional Development with the New York City Police Department. She has published 24 books on police related topics and scores of articles and book chapters. Her focus and expertise are police leadership and development, police training and police ethics and integrity.​
